Setting up the Stock Functionality
As a first step, you need to set up the stock functionality. To that end, complete the following steps.
Step 1: User Access to the Stock Functionality
You need to enable user access and rights to the stock feature.
1. On the left panel, click Settings.
2. Click Users.
3. Click the user email ID and then select the required stock-related permissions and click Save.
4. To verify that access is available, click Settings on the left panel and on the Settings page, under the PRODUCTS & STOCK heading, click Stock Setup.
5. If access is not available, then Surf Accounts shows the following message.
6. Else, the Stock Setup page appears.
Step 2: Setting up the Stock Functionality
In this step, you will be customising the stock setup according to your requirements.
1. On the Stock Setup page, complete the following steps, as applicable.

Use Stock | To enable the stock functionality, select this option. When you enable the stock feature, the stock functionality is enabled and available on the left panel. |

GOODS IN NUMBER | To assign a unique identification to goods coming to your stock from the supplier, use this functionality. To have Surf Accounts sequentially auto-number the incoming goods, enter your custom number in the NEXT box while keeping the AUTO option selected. The first good will be assigned the number visible here and each following good will be numbered sequentially. |
GOODS OUT NUMBER | To assign a unique identification to goods going out to your customers, use this functionality. To have Surf Accounts sequentially auto-number the outgoing goods, enter your custom number in the NEXT box while keeping the AUTO option selected. The first good will be assigned the number visible here and each following good will be numbered sequentially. |
STOCK ADJUSTMENT NUMBER | You may need to adjust your stock levels because of various reasons. To assign a unique identification to the stock adjustment, use this functionality. To have Surf Accounts sequentially auto-number the stock adjustment, enter your custom number in the NEXT box while keeping the AUTO option selected. The first stock adjustment will be assigned the number visible here and each following adjustment will be numbered sequentially. |
ORDERS-IN ADJUSTMENT NUMBER | You may need to adjust your incoming orders because of various reasons. To assign a unique identification to the incoming orders adjustment, use this functionality. To have Surf Accounts sequentially auto-number the adjustment, enter your custom number in the NEXT box while keeping the AUTO option selected. The first adjustment will be assigned the number visible here and each following adjustment will be numbered sequentially. |
ORDERS-OUT ADJUSTMENT NUMBER | You may need to adjust your outgoing orders because of various reasons. To assign a unique identification to the adjustment, use this functionality. To have Surf Accounts sequentially auto-number the adjustment, enter your custom number in the NEXT box while keeping the AUTO option selected. MAINTAIN STOCK LEVELS FROM | You can choose to maintain stock levels from a certain date. Select the date. |

UPDATE INCOMING STOCK LEVEL BASED ON | You can update incoming stock level based on delivery or invoice. Select the most appropriate option. |
UPDATE OUTGOING STOCK LEVEL BASED ON | You can update the outgoing stock level based on delivery or invoice. Select the most appropriate option. |
UPDATE ORDERS-IN LEVEL BASED ON | You can update incoming order level based on orders or invoices. Select the most appropriate option. |
UPDATE ORDERS-OUT LEVEL BASED ON | You can update outgoing order level based on orders or invoices. Select the most appropriate option. |
3. To save your custom settings, click Save.
Step 3: Setting up Stock Adjustment Types
In this step, you will be setting up or updating the basis on which you will adjust the stocks. The stock adjustment types are relevant when you set up new stock adjustments.
1. On the Settings page, under the PRODUCTS & STOCK heading, click Stock Adjustment Types.
2. On the Stock Adjustment Types window, add, remove or update the stock adjustment type.
Stores
You can set up details of one or more stores, if any that host product stocks.
1. On the Settings page, under the PRODUCTS & STOCK heading, click Stores.
2. On the Stock Stores window, add, remove or update the store names.
