A business can have many business opportunities. Surf Accounts allows you to capture and manage such opportunities. You can capture opportunity details such as related customer or prospect, value, source and the current stage of the opportunity and update the opportunity, whenever necessary. Configuring Opportunity Details
To configure opportunity details, complete the following steps.
1. Log in to Surf Accounts. The Business page appears.
2. On the Business page, locate the required business by completing either of the following steps.

- In the Search box on the top right corner, enter the name of the business fully or partially and click . The business summary will appear under the Select a Business heading.
- The business summary is available under the Select a Business heading. If you cannot find it, at the bottom-right corner of the page, click 100 to increase the number of records to be displayed on the page. The business summary will be available under the Select a Business heading.

3. Under the Select a Business heading, click the name of the business.
4. The Customers page appears. On the Customers page, from the left panel, click CRM > Opportunities.
5. The Opportunities page appears. On the Opportunities page, click [New].
6. The New Opportunity window appears. On the New Opportunity window, enter the following details.

CUSTOMER/PROSPECT | To select the customer or prospect with whom the opportunity is related, click and from the Customer/Prospect window, select the required option. |
SUB-CONTACT | Select the contact person of the customer or prospect regarding the opportunity. The contact person details are configured at the time of configuring customer or prospect details. |
DATE | Select the date of opportunity creation. You can set the date up to 5 years beyond the current set accounting period. |
TARGET DATE | Select the date on which you plan to close the opportunity. |
ACCOUNT MANAGER | The account manager is usually one of the users. If you close or make inactive one of the users, then the user name will not appear on the list. |
TYPE OF OPPORTUNITY | Select whether the opportunity is related to an existing or new customer. |
SOURCE | Select how the opportunity was created. |
STAGE | Select the current stage or phase of the opportunity pursuance. |
WEIGHTING % | To assign a notional importance to the stage, select a percentage from the list. |
VALUE | Enter the monetary value of the opportunity. |
DESCRIPTION | Enter a description of the opportunity. |
NOTES | Enter additional notes, if necessary. |
7. To save the opportunity details, click [Save].
Updating Opportunity Details
To update opportunity details, complete the following steps.
1. Complete steps 1 to 4 as given in Configuring Opportunity Details.
2. On the Opportunities page, click corresponding to the required row and from the inline menu, click [Open].
3. The Edit Opportunity window appears. On the Edit Opportunity window, edit the opportunity, as required.
4. To save the changes, click [Save].
Removing Opportunity Details
To remove opportunity details, complete the following steps.
1. Complete steps 1 to 4 as given in Configuring Opportunity Details.
2. On the Opportunities page, click corresponding to the required row and from the inline menu, click [Remove].
3. The Confirmation Message window appears. On the Confirmation Message window, click [Delete]. The opportunity details are removed.
Applying Filter
You can view opportunity details by applying filter. To apply filter, do the following.
1. Complete steps 1 to 4 as given in Configuring Opportunity Details.
2. To set filter, on the Opportunities page, click [Filter] and on the [Filter Opportunity] window, configure the filters, as required.
3. To view charts, on the Opportunities page, click [Chart]. The chart window appears.
Other Actions
You can print, save, remove or email the opportunity details. To perform the actions, see the steps below.
1. Complete steps 1 to 4 as given in Configuring Opportunity Details.
2. On the Opportunities page, click [Print].
3. The Opportunity Report page appears. On the Opportunity Report page, do the following, as required.

- To print, click [Print].
- To generate an excel sheet containing details, click [Excel].
- To save a copy of the opportunity details in the PDF format, click [Save].
- To send the opportunity details in email, click [Email].
